In 1825, Lafayette visited Vermont, as part of his Farewell Tour, which included a stop in Woodstock.
Come celebrate the bicentennial of this visit at the Woodstock History Center with a Lafayette re-enactor, crafts, historically-inspired treats, a self-guided walking tour that traces Lafayette’s visit to Woodstock, and more.

Event will begin on the Woodstock History Center’s front lawn, located at 26 Elm Street, at about 11:00 am. At about 11:45 am, the Lafayette re-enactor will move from the History Center to the Congregational Church (just down the street) and greet and interact with guests there. Preston Bristow will also lead a session on the history of the Church’s Revere bell and other architectural features.
From 11:45 am to 4:00 pm, the Woodstock History Center’s museum will be open, free of charge. Exhibits include The Wonder Room, Hindsight 20/20, That’s a Good Question, and the historic house that features art, furniture, clothing, toys, and much more.
