Chauncey Richardson's Centennial Celebration History: 1876

This sketch was compiled by local 19th-century historian Chauncey Richardson, who knew great deal about the area’s history, both firsthand and through oral tradition passed down from his forbears who were some of the first settlers to the Woodstock area. The sketch, which covers some of the significant events that occurred between 1761 and 1876, was read at the United States’ Centennial celebration held in Woodstock on July 4, 1876.
