Mission: The purpose of the award is to encourage scholarship in the field of history, to publicize the mission of the Woodstock History Center, and in so doing to further our commitment to and support of the Woodstock community.  We do not look at financial need as a criteria for receiving the gift.

This scholarship is open to students in grades nine through twelve at the Woodstock Union High School who will pursue studies related to history, museums, historic preservation, American/New England Studies, and other related fields. Scholarship monies will be used for tuition or other costs associated with pre-college/college courses, summer programs, or extracurricular projects. A maximum of $1,000 will be awarded to the qualified candidate.

Please submit a cover letter (which explains the potential use of funds and any important dates), an official transcript, and a resume. We particularly support innovative projects and ideas that relate to the history of our local area. If you are utilizing the funds for college, please detail which college you will be attending and your anticipated major. The deadline for submitting a request is May 1. If the Scholarship Committee has questions regarding your application, they may contact you to schedule a brief meeting. The recipient of the award will be expected to appear at the Woodstock History Center’s Annual Meeting to receive the award.
